About Black Educational History Exhibit

The Black Education History Exhibit (BEHE) is an organization that was formed in 2006 with a mission of preserving any existing memorabilia of Black students and schools from the segregated era in Douglas County.

Our success in gathering items, including some class photos that date from the 1940’s, has enabled us to expand and sponsor special events such as an annual Anniversary Open House Day and Black History Exhibits where invited guest speakers attend along with the general public. We are located in the Old Courthouse Museum of Douglas County, 6754 Broad Street, Douglasville, Georgia 30134, telephone number 770-949-4090 with hours of 1-5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The hope of the group is that ours and generations to come benefit from our rich history, our current accomplishments and our promising future.
